The Mayor of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, is in Self-isolation Following a Colleague Testing Positive for Covid-19

The Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, offered his daily press video conference from your home, since the Secretary of Government of Mexico City, José Alfonso Suárez del Real, tested positive for COVID-19 and according to the president, yesterday they were together.

Following the protocols, the officials are isolated and will work remotely for a few days.

However, the president assured not have any symptoms of the disease.

“I am in perfect condition, in fact I would like to go to the office, but we have to follow protocol (…) 100% and working fully and nothing else by protocol we do this isolation scheme. If we ask citizens to make the protocols, then that one also do them ”, explained

He further explained that Suárez del Real is under surveillance And from what the test showed, the viral load is low. The official is asymptomatic.

He also said that the government team with whom he was in contact is working from home for at least five days to avoid infecting other people.

In that sense, Sheinbaum mentioned that next Thursday the coronavirus test will be carried out again and if this is negative, he will return to his face-to-face work.

For his part, the secretary released the news through social networks.

« I inform you that I have tested positive for Covid-19. I feel good and have advised everyone I have contact to take precautions. I continue to lead all my functions from home ”, he revealed.

It should be remembered that José Alfonso Suárez del Real was appointed the new head of the Secretariat of Government of Mexico City on July 26, after the departure of Rosa Icela Rodríguez.
