The Nigerian Center for Disease Control late Monday night released its daily COVID-19 report which triggered wide spread jubilation among residence of Lagos and Nigerians living outside the state but maintained keen interest in the unfolding COVID-19 events in the country – Lagos state had just recorded zero new COVID-19 case, the report revealed.

On seeing the report, many people took to their twitter account handles late that night to celebrate the news with some describing it as a sign and near indication for possible end to the suffering and mandatory lock down which has impacted painfully on the economic activities and livelihood of Nigerians both old and young.

However, this wide spread celebration and hope for better things to come in the near future was short lived. No thanks to the release of NCDC latest reports late Tuesday night which showed 117 confirmed new COVID-19 cases in which Lagos recorded 59 new cases.

Since the report was released, Nigerians have been reacting on twitter – expressing their views, anger and some others stating reasons why the numbers are not dropping as anticipated.
