Nigerians have taken to their twitter handles expressing their concerns over the unprecedented rise in the new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country. The country’s NCDC early hours Friday released the latest national COVID-19 figure which turns out to be the highest recorded number in a single day. The figures released by the NCDC shows that Nigeria within 24 hours recorded a total of 381 new cases of COVID-19 and 4 deaths.
Lagos state as the epicenter has maintained its lead on the COVID-19 League table recording a total of 183 confirmed cases, followed by Kano with 55 cases, Jigawa 44, Zamfara and Bauchi 19 cases each, Katsina 11, Borno 9, Kwara 8, Kaduna 7, Gombe 6, Ogun 5, Sokoto 4, Oyo 3, Rivers 3, Niger 2, Akwa Ibom, Enugu and Plateau 1 case each.
This brings the national total since the index case was reported in the country to 3,526 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 107 deaths.
