Man Who Allegedly Shot and Killed One and Injured 2 Others at New York Grocery Store Still at Large: Police.

Authorities identified Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, 30, as the person of interest they are searching for in connection with the shooting. Authorities cautioned the public not to approach him, but to call 911 immediately.

Police are searching for a person of interest who remains at large after he allegedly shot and killed one person and wounded two others at a grocery store in New York, police said at press conference Tuesday.

Authorities identified Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, 30, as the man they are searching for and asked residents in Long Island to remain indoors. The school district has been placed on lockdown. Police said DeWitt Wilson was dressed in all black when he walked into the Stop & Shop late Tuesday morning and allegedly shot three people, killing one of them, in the town of West Hempstead before fleeing. The two surviving victims are in the hospital, police said.

Authorities said they believe DeWitt Wilson got on a bus after the shooting and was last seen heading west. He is still believed to have the handgun allegedly used in the shooting.

Stop & Shop released a statement said it was “shocked and heartbroken by this act of violence that occurred at our store.” Authorities believe DeWitt Wilson was either a former or current employee of the store. Authorities cautioned the public not to approach him, but to call 911 immediately.
