The State of Osun Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori flagged off the distribution of long lasting insecticidal nets with a call on households to ensure they sleep under the nets to eradicate malaria from the state on Wednesday.

Osun Defender reports that the program tagged ‘Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) Replacement Campaign’, which is being led by the Society for Family Health (SFH) attracted international and local stakeholders in the health sector, who lauded Aregbesola-led administration for putting healthcare on the front burner.

Franspat gathered that Osun state is among the six states that will benefit from the replacement exercise under the Re-distribution programme of the Global Fund in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Public Health Director at the Osun State Ministry of Health told audiences at the event that the target for the year 2017 replacement of long lasting insecticidal nets (LLIN) is about 3 million nets with a ratio of 1 mosquito net to two persons unlike the last exercise which was held in 2013 where 1.6 million LLIN were distributed.
