Barely four weeks that a section of the Delta State police headquarters was gutted by fire, another section of the headquarters on Thursday April 22 was engulfed by fire.
The fire, which razed the control room of the command around 2 pm, caused panic among police officers and passersby.
The extent of damage done by the fire is still unclear. Though the fire was said to have destroyed properties with millions of naira at the police headquarters.
The state police spokesperson, Bright Edafe said in a statement that the fire which started around 2.45pm affected parts of the control room. Prompt response by firefighters prevented the fire from escalating.
The police spokesman said investigation had begun to unravel the cause of the incident.
